Mercy Air Ambulance
Mercy Air, owned by Air Methods, is one of the largest air ambulance carriers in the United States. It has been receiving a lot of attention as of late due to the amount of accidents in has had in the past couple of years. Though there have been some fatal accidents, do not be alarmed; Mercy Air has close to 300 air crafts, and according to one of its vice presidents, does 100,000 hours a year and over 85,000 missions a year. Once that is put into perspective, the 19 accidents that have happened over a 10-year period seem quite minimal. Mercy Air and other companies own by Air Methods use helicopters to serve whoever needs to be transported. It is based in Colorado and has been all over the United States and has done some international transport as well.
It is unfortunate that Mercy Air does not receive media coverage for the good things it has accomplished. Transporting and saving thousands of people worldwide is no mean feat, and the people Mercy Air recruits are some of the most-talent critical care providers one will meet. Companies like Air Methods and Mercy Air are rare; let’s not take them lightly.
